#POSITIVITY: You Are Always In The Right Place At The Right Time
Love him or hate him, there seem to be only two ways with Phil Hellmuth. His ego is HUGE but so are his poker winnings.
In 1989 he won the Main Event and became the youngest player ever to win it. He held the record, as the youngest champ, for almost 20 years.
Here is a list of all his WSOP bracelets:
1989 – $10,000 No Limit Hold’em World Championship – $755,000
1992 – $5,000 Limit Hold’em – $168,000
1993 – $1,500 No Limit Hold’em – $161,400
1993 – $2,500 No Limit Hold’em – $173,000
1993 – $5,000 Limit Hold’em – $138,000
1997 – $3,000 Pot Limit Hold’em – $204,000
2001 – $2,000 No Limit Hold’em – $316,550

2003 – $3,000 No Limit Hold’em – $410,860
2006 – $1,000 No Limit Hold’em with rebuys – $631,863

2012 – €10,450 No Limit Hold’em Main Event – €1,022,376
2015 – $10,000 Seven-Card Razz – $271,105
2018 – $5,000 No Limit Hold’em – $485,082
From the above bracelet events, you can see that the highest earrings come from the Main Event in 1989. However, this was not his largest win. Hellmuth also got $2,645,333 for finishing 4th in $1,000,000 buy-in “Big One for One Drop” tournament.
Additionally, in 2012 Phill won the WSOPE Main Event and became the first player ever to win both the WSOP and WSOPE Main Events.
Phil’s car accident
In 2007 he tried to arrive at the Main Event in a race car, provided by his sponsor. On the way there he hit a light fixture and had to replace the car for a limo, appearing at the Main Event with two hours delay. Probably his stackers were really disappointed.
